Boat Party Event 2006, London
This event was hosted and organised by Leroy Nel and Gayle Meikle. It was a boat party on the Thames. They raised £1, 700 for the Inkanyiso Daycare centre. It was a manic morning with the DJ's having to set up all their equipment onboard and getting all the food to the boat, but before long we were meandering down the Thames and having a great jol! We departed from Embankment Pier at 12pm and turned around to collect some late comers (Itayi operating on African time!) and then made our way up to Greenwich passing all of London's great icons; the London Eye, Shakespeare's Globe and Tower Bridge to name a few. At the end of the trip, we raffled off a South African hamper, won by lucky No 15, Jon Cheten-Palmer. After an afternoon drinking and partying in the sun we were dropped back at Embankment Pier, conveniently located to the Temple Walkabout, where a lot of people continued the merriment. A great day all in all! This event was sponsored by the South African eShop and Dairy Crest Ltd.
